I highly doubt anyone would take a lower level into this instance. IMO to be in here you not only have to be level 70, you have to be mostly wearing tier 6 to even help anyone out here. Comment by Summerdale The reson they all look all wierd is becaus the energy of the Sunwell is running through them.
Comment by Fearnot Sunwell Plateau was added in patch 2. It is the hardest raid instance currently in the game, and will remain so until Wrath of the Lich King comes out. The Sunwell Plateau takes a well organized, skilled, and geared group to complete. There is no attunement to enter the instance, you just must be in a raid group.
The best PvE loot in the game is currently available here, including Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury , the best bow in the game. If you are going to attempt this, all I can say is good luck, and have fun. Comment by Oddly, most of the loot at Sunwell looks like brutal gladiator aka Season 4. So yeah, its ugly. Comment by antoniu8 were can i find a map with all the bosses in sunwell? Comment by in 80's 5 man in sunwell enough?
Comment by n4rt0n no isn't Sunwell still requires more than 5man 80s wtf? Comment by gggn4 i think this place is harder then 10 men naxx xP. Comment by Meranoth The listed required level here and on wowwiki says 70 but we took in someone at If not that, at least Sunwell? I must say that it was a progress. The raid is extremely hard for a PuG group like this. We didn't have problems at Kalecgos, Brutallus also went down when people started doing what they should, but Felmyst has proven to be impossible without really good coordination.
Compared to this, Naxx10 is nothing. I think this will be only comparable to Icecrown raid when it comes out, because it really took the best out of our group. I mean, even Malygos25 is easily PuGable when you take same general gear-check into coordination and people with M10 achievement Completion is still rewarding, and the 70s Epics might be a good uprgrade for the lower levels of your pug, or at least some things for you to remember the old times, when everything wasn't that overpowered and DK's weren't running around just waiting for them to become healers.
So, I should stop writing crap. The upper half is somewhat sensible though. Sunwell be with you. Comment by Well this is still hardest instance Comment by Sunwell Plateau is the hardest and final raid instance in the Burning Crusade expansion pack.
Within, Kael'thas Sunstrider is trying to summon Kil'jaeden the Deceiver, the leader of the demon forces in the expansion, through the Sunwell. Players fight through demon and Scourge alike in order to stop this powerful entity from entering the world.
Comment by Even in Wotlk with 80's my raid still failed miseribly! Comment by Hehe. I find it funny how people call Sunwell Plateau hard at level No offence, it probably is challenging for a pug where people dont know how the fights work, but still this proves how challenging this place was at level Not to mention people who try Sunwell at level 80 are playing the "nerfed" or maybe I should say destroyed, since it screwed the whole beauty of raiding Sunwell.
Pre-WotLK patch 3. However, if you're raiding in WotLK I understand how people feel Sunwell is extremely hard as it is now. It's sad, but that's how the raiding is now. Epics for everyone! Comment by To reach and defeat the final boss in Sunwell Plateau, someone must be in a raid group where all characters must be fully equiped with rare pve-items from lvl instances and some items from lvl heroic instances.
This may be heard really silly, since Sunwell Plateu is a BC-raid, but if someone compares the real values of some drops from Sunwell and lvl instances, he will see that -an ilvl epic item has about the same value of an ilvl rare item -an ilvl epic item has about the same value of a ilvl rare item That is why some guilds managed to clear Naxxramas with only BC gear. Comment by Narielm Long ago the Sunwell radiated its magic to all of the high elves on Azeroth.
Now the remnants of this ancient fountain have become the Burning Legion's latest target as the demons prepare to summon their commander, Kil'jaeden, with the last of the Sunwell's energy.
Warriors from Shattrath City have joined under the banner of the Shattered Sun Offensive, endeavoring to crush the Legion's invasion before it becomes insurmountable. More heroes join the Offensive every day, but the might of the Legion cannot be easily suppressed.
Fierce demonic servants guard the Sunwell Plateau, attacking anyone who interferes with their proceedings. As the time of Kil'jaeden's arrival draws near, Azeroth's heroes have one final chance to save their world from blistering devastation Taken from www. Comment by unknownman hi guys do i need to have good reputation with some sides to go in raids or it's just for Hc dungons?
Comment by adamb10 This instance is largely a joke at Kalecgos dies in 2 portals, Brutallus is a tank and spank, felmyst you can kill without her going in the air. Twins remain a challenge somewhat and is now the hardest fight Muru dies within a minute and KJ is the easiest boss. Dont worry about getting dragons anymore or his big damage abilities.
You'll have him switch phases so quickly they wont matter. Comment by How long does it take to run Sunwell? We clear the whole place in just over an hour.
It's still reasonably difficult at 80; Felmyst is a DPS check - if you can get her down before the air phase you're golden, otherwise you'll have to rely on having an experienced breath caller and people moving correctly. Twins can't be brute forced. You're going to have to deal with idiots wiping your raid if you're PuGing it, although perhaps there are some clever ways to work around Conflagrate being put on a dumb Death Knight.
The rest of the instance is pretty much tank and spank. Have your raid stand there looking pretty until portals appear, then send a tank, a healer and your best DPSers in with a shaman if available. Brutallus will require proper positioning and tanks that know where their taunt button is but is a pushover in practice. Sadly someone always anages to spread Burn around after he's dead and half-wipe the raid. M'uru is also a joke. If you managed Felmyst without air phases stick a tank in front, add DPS and he'll drop his goods.
Kil'Jaeden is actually quite straightforward. After killing the three Hands of the Deceiver spread out. You'll be going through the phases quite quickly so it'll all seem like one phase. Sinister Reflections still need to be tanked.
Avoid Meteors and Shadow Spikes no worries, you can heal through it if you get hit. You can ignore the Shield Orbs floating around, they don't hurt anymore. Have one person preferably someone that knows what he's doing be the Dragon. When the sphere becomes active everyone collapses into one spot to receive a Breath: Haste, then spreads back out. Eventually he'll emote 'Kil'jaeden begins to channel dark energy'. Raid collapses back together.
Person controlling dragon should cast shield near the end of the 8-second cast. Spread back out, rinse and repeat. If your dragonman messes up or if you miss the shield you die, no pressure. Grats on achievement, Thori'dal, Apolyon, etc. Kind of sad to see such a great instance reduced to the above but such is the way of things.
Comment by Wezel sunwell and the whole blood elf theme is just beautiful, I'm definitely gonna run alts through it at level but i wish blizzard would make a sliding scale system to where you can up the level of the instances and such. Comment by LuxyQTeu Cleared this one my mage with my guild so wasent a pug took like 25 min with 20 ppl about k raid wide dps so was easy for us : only 80s and ilvl geared :. Comment by Narinian The Sunwell was a fount of mystical power at a convergence of powerful ley energies in Quel'Thalas, created by the high elves who used a vial of sacred water stolen from the Well of Eternity.
The well's potent arcane magic fed and strengthened all high elves on Azeroth. Thus, the city of Silvermoon was established. The power of the high elves grew, and they cast an enchantment on the Eversong Woods that would keep them bathed in eternal springtime. Elven magi crafted monolithic Runestones along the borders of Quel'Thalas; these massive stones powered a magical shield intended to mask the elves' magic from extra-dimensional threats and protect the land from invasion.
The hard-won peace of Quel'Thalas would endure for roughly four thousand years. I'm looking to get the recipes I didn't get a chance to while levelling. Also, do the BoE recipes drop even if someone without that skill is in the party? It might be nice to get the goggle recipes for my alt if they do. Comment by jw duoable for a 5. My plan requires that everyone use Vent for communication. The 80s would be recruited because of the chance to make gold and the non 80s would supply the gold and come because of the gear.
I would be the loot master and loot everything into my inventory. At the end of each boss the loot would be distributed.
Everyone all 25 raid members would roll on each item even if they could not use it. The winner of the role had two options. He or she could take the item and do whatever he or she wanted with it. This could be vendoring, disenchanting, trading it to a raid friend, keeping it for their own use, or keeping so that another player they did not like could not get it. What they do with it is their business. They can even sell it to another raid member.
But they cannot auction it to the other raid members because that would be option number 2. If they chose the auction, then they would tell me the starting bid and I would auction it off in a live auction using Vent. This would be fun for the raid and generate gold for the non 80s and allow the famous Sunwell gear to be bought by the non 80s.
At the end of the raid, all of the gold obtained from the auction house cuts would be rolled for. The vendor price for all the trash pyrestones, etc. I would auction the sunmotes off and add this to the auction house gold being rolled for. If we had some successful runs and the auction was fun it could be a regular weekly event. But alas, practicality set in. No one wants to waste their time on a lengthy loot distribution.
They want to kill the boss and move on to the next one. Somebody is always going to feel cheated in a PUG even if it was need vs. I could not make it work but I thought I would share my idea to see if anyone else could get it to work. Please tell me what you think.
The tricky part is to push enught damage wile ur in there and still make sure you dont die since thay still do a fair pice of dmg. Comment by Greken fun thing is that mah post got downrated.
I mean there gota be something half decent in it But sure my english aint perfecto nor my grammer but meh. In blood I had K health before any buffs. My average item level is I easily killed the robot with around K health. I could not get through a single one of the grouped trash with K health a piece before dying.
I tried both blood and unholy. IMO trash is still not soloable. It might be with a healer. I guess it makes sense. I will try again next expansion. Comment by ToughGirl sooooo about this raid Comment by I hope a day it will make it return maybe with other bosses or as a remake like zul gurub or zul aman.
Comment by Swiftflight I've been doing this place on my warrior every week for the legendary and it's pretty easy. The raid has usually 5 or 6 people total can be done with less definately and we breeze right through it. I offer everyone gg if the bow drops in compensation because I reserve it. Only boss that can give us a little trouble is brutallus because of the stacking debuff and a mess up on taunts.
But usually if that happens we can all stack on each other to divide the damage more. I survived last week with 15 stacks of it on me so it's fine. I take 2 healers, 1 tank, 3 dps for easiness and speed. Comment by Chromell The trash is very easily soloed by a Frost Mage, here's what I did: First, clear the Protector patrolling the entrance area it hits for quite a lot on clothies, use Mirror Image if you have to.
I foccused on killing the pack of BElfs protecting the way to the other room, Polymorph the Sunblade Slayer he is by far the most dangerous mob in the group, using a physical skill that will slowly kill you, dealing damage based on your total health over 8 seconds , once he's sheeped, use Ring of Frost on the other ads on the left, there should be some casters and 1 melee.
Immediately burn down the melee Sunblade Vindicator while the other casters healer included are frozen. If you accomplish this, the hard part is done, focus on killing the healer first then proceeding to the dragonhawk pet and then the other casters, I recomend Frost spec due to Ice Barrier making the fight a lot easier.
Don't forget to keep the Slayer sheeped! Also another neat tip, Spellsteal the HoT the healer put on the ads and himself, it ticks for 17k, more than enough to help you deal with the ads if your barrier is out of cd. And if an accident occurs and you get shot with the debuff by the Slayer, immediately Ice Block to lose the debuff and sheep it back as fast as you can, glyphed Evocation is also very useful for this situation. Once you killed all the ads except the Slayer, keep it sheeped and go harvest your loot, go invisible and the group will fully respawn due to the Slayer being left alive.
Repeat for infinite success and good luck on the patterns :. None of us were very familiar with Sunwell, but we gave it a try and cleared it after a few deaths and changing our approach. Trash: I got a bit carried a way on our first pull. I pulled both groups at the entrance thinking trash would be a breeze, and well, that was our first wipe.
We zoned back in, now a little more cautious as we knew Sunwell wasn't going down easy. Take out any slayers first, and trash won't give you any problems throughout the whole run. Kalecgos: Don't make the mistake we did of killing Kalecgos first, he'll banish himself at 1 hp and you'll be forced to hearth out as he doesn't seem to reset. With that said, I went prot for this and tanked Kalecgos while the hunter and priest went in the shadow realm.
I had no problems keeping myself up while they finished Sathrovarr on their second round. Kalecgos will enraged at this point, but it didn't make a noticeable difference. Our next attempt we had the hunter pet tank him, meteor slash seemed to have no effect on it, make these fight very easy. Eredar twins: I remember a pug group of 20 people at lvl 80 falling apart here due to conflag.
With only 3 of us though, this fight wasn't too bad. We stayed spread out and burned down Sacrolash first, the damage dropped dramatically after her death. You'll be left with an annoying 3 minute debuff from Alythess, at 20 stacks it was ticking for every 2 or 3 seconds. M'uru: Hunter burned boss while i went around aoe'ing adds. We didn't take much damage and low boss hp made this a quick fight.
Even if the boss dies, they should stay away until Burn ends. So the best thing to do? Kill Felmyst before she reaches Phase 2. Then put the rest of your ranged dps and healers near the tree by which you jump down.
Be sure to have 1 priest in the melee group and 2 priests in the ranged group for mass dispell. Felmyst will be flying in the air above your raid after you kill Brutalus, once you have finished explaining the fight to your raid and everyone is in position, have a hunter MD pull the boss to one of your tanks.
As soon as Felmyst lands, have a shaman use Heroism and get everyone in your raid to use all their cooldowns. You need to get her down ASAP. You have 58 seconds to burn down her 7 Million Hit points before she goes into phase 2.
It's very easily doable with a good level 80 pug. During the fight Felmyst casts Gas Nova on your raid which ticks every 2 seconds, dealing dmg per tick and draining mana per tick. Felmyst also casts Encapsulate which is pink sphere that appears around a random raid member and deals every second for 6 seconds. Just make sure your healers are awak and can heal through the dmg. Once Felmyst is dead, the big firewall that encloses the area will despawn and you can then continue into the Gauntlet.
Make sure your raid members are all alive, healed up, buffed and ready to go before beginning the Gauntlet because you won't get out of combat again until you reach the end.
Once you have gotten through the Ramp and killed several packs of Trash mobs, you will enter The Eredar Twins room. Now the first thing that some people do when they get here is they try jump up onto the Ledge right infront of them. DON'T let them do that. Almost EVERY time people try do that, some noob jumps too far and falls down, pulling the boss before you can explain the fight.
Even if people try and argue with you that they have done this a million times, don't let them jump up because then noobs see them doing it, and try do it themselves - fail. This fight is more of a healing intensive and raid aware fight than all the other fights in Sunwell. Once he is dead then have your raid burn down Lady Sacrolash on the left. Soon after you pull, Lady Sacrolash will target her ability Conflagration on someone in the raid usually the person third on thread - though it often tends to be quite random for some reason.
If your tank for some reason gets Conflagration then everyone should move away from the tank. Once you have killed The Eredar Twins, your raid continues to go out through the bottom exit, right and then up the Ramp leading to M'uru. This boss is amazingly simple for a level 80 PuG, and very much a nice change after Felmyst and the twins. Your entire raid should be aware to move out of the Void Spawns that spawn throughout the fight.
