Why voyager is the best star trek

In contrast to all the other series, Voyager is a science vessel which is on a year journey back home to Earth. Vice versa, modern Star Wars is like classic Star Trek : People sitting around talking about politics and space science midi-chlorians , anyone?

Have you ever noticed how sitcoms like Full House , or Fuller House , or Cody In The House , have these stupid corny jokes but then they have really heart-warming moments or even maybe some insightful moments? And Star Trek: Voyager is the only Star Trek series which actually nails that vibe because it feels like a family and not a crew, and so the emotional stakes feel higher, which better highlights the issues raised by the show.

I mean, having a female captain helped her relate to Star Trek: Voyager , sure — but is there anyone else in the entire Star Trek universe like the Emergency Medical Hologram who she named Trevor for reasons that I will never understand?

Star Trek: Voyager is more concerned with the thought-provoking feels that I personally associate with Star Trek than it is with the intergalactic politics of the series. You must be logged in to post a comment.

And fails. GIQUE out with us and share. Share on facebook. The story pivoted at how Janeway volunteered to sacrifice her ship so the other Voyager ships could go on. Janeway and her crew then had to work with an alternate Voyager version to get themselves out of trouble.

Now, the doctor must save the day. In this episode, every Starfleet and Voyager crew was given a chance to return to 20th century Earth. Right after the failed attempts of a time ship from the 29 th century to destroy the Voyager, both vessels were transported back to s America.

Brace yourself, as this episode is arguably the most uncomfortable episode to watch in the whole Voyager series. The story started when a group of space aliens was hooked into a virtual reality machine to escape a natural disaster. At first, they thought they would enjoy an idyllic world created from their feelings and thoughts. However, their worries manifested in a clown and embodied their Fears. Then, this clown held them hostage, in an attempt to continue its existence.

In this exciting episode, Neelix died while partaking in a survey mission of a protomatter nebula. However, thanks to the doctor who used an effective technique devised by Seven of Nine, Neelix was revived after being dead for nearly 19 hours.

He then was convinced that his life was meaningless. When it comes to collectibles, we saw a lot of potential toys and action figures in this episode! And then, she became anxious that her daughter would share many of her Klingon traits. In this film, you will see a different side that is contradictory to her usually independent, strong, and brusque personality.

In this episode, various members of the Voyager crew discovered Insurrection Alpha, a holodeck simulation that the Maquis members devised to create mutiny against the Starfleet officers.

When the program rose to fame, Tuvok Tim Russ claimed that he wrote the holodeck program to train his security officers for any possible Maquis rebellion. Paris then offered Tavok to finish the program in the holodeck but soon found themselves trapped in the virtual brig.

It depends. Voyager may or may not be the best Star Trek series. Like most other shows, it has the best and worst episodes. However, our team also thinks Voyager is as great as the other series. This season featured amazing characters such as Seven of Nine of Borg Space, who had a genuinely compelling character arc - rediscovering her humanity and all. Her combination of the best aspects of Vulcans and Data made her a great source of humor.

Day four: Stop body slamming your brother. Three shows of dubious-educational value. There is no shore leave here. There is no map. There is no one coming to visit this ship. Like Voyager , we are adrift. But we might be okay. Tuvok, after struggling with his new recruits, finally realizes he must bend to accommodate them. Neelix demonstrates this with flowers: the ones who survive are not the brittle ones. When the ship itself gets a virus in its gel-packs during that episode, it is the Maquis who aid in the problem-solving.

We invented new spiders and have watched a lot of Sesame Street. I had coincidentally started my re-watch of Voyager before Covid hit America. I discovered Star Trek in my thirties and, like many late-comer Trekkies, I enjoy the pleasure of binging plot lines that used to take months to untangle when the shows aired live. Voyager gets the rap of being a quieter show, but it is the perfect bingeable series for this era. Where Jean-Luc demands higher moral accountability, Janeway demands survival.

Where Sisko defends and fights, Janeway persists. Season 4 is best known for the introduction of Seven of Nine, and the simultaneous departure of Kes.

The seeds it planted came to full fruition with Season 1 of Picard , with Jeri Ryan already defying conventions about how an ex-Borg might behave. And for the first time, the crew made contact with the Alpha Quadrant, signaling that while they might not get home right away, they were still making progress toward their goal.

The pieces all worked, and the odd misfire was easily forgiven for the strong material surrounding it. Season 5 found Voyager handling a variety of plot threads with confidence and aplomb.
